In the Andean Cosmology of Peru the Wilka Mayu (Sacred River) is represented by the Urubamba River as it runs north and south of Pisaq, a small city in the Sacred Valley of the High Andes.
Mama Cocha (Mother of the Waters) is the guardian of all the waters of the world, from the mountain streams to the oceans.
In this ceremony we will collectively feel the cleansing spirits of the waters. Then in an act of Ayni (sacred reciprocity) we will flow our communal energy out to cleanse the polluted and damaged waters all around the world: the oceans, the rivers, the lakes and the lagoons.
